How Card Assessments Work
A smarter way to decide before you grade
Grading is expensive. Once a card is submitted, the outcome is out of your control.
APEX Card Vault (ACV) exists to help collectors make informed decisions before spending money on grading - whether for personal collections or resale.
We provide independent, image-based card assessments designed to identify strengths, weaknesses, and realistic grading outcomes.

What ACV is:
ACV provides a pre-grading assessment using high-resolution images submitted by the collector.
Each assessment focuses on the same core areas used by professional grading companies:
-
Centering
-
Corners
-
Edges
-
Surface Condition
Our goal is not to assign an official grade - it is to provide clarity, risk awareness, and guidance.

What ACV is Not:
To be clear:
-
ACV is not a grading company.
-
We do not encapsulate cards.
-
We do not issue official grades.
-
We do not represent or act on behalf of any grading company.
-
We do not guarantee grading outcomes.
Final grades are always determined by third-party grading companies such as PSA, BGS, SGC, TAG and others.

What You'll Receive
Each card assessment includes:
-
A condition overview across major grading categories
-
Identification of visible flaws or risk factors
-
A realistic grading range estimate
-
A clear recommendation to:
-
Submit for grading
-
Hold raw
-
Avoid grading
-

Our focus is decision support, not hype
When ACV is Most Useful
ACV is designed for collectors who want to:
-
Avoid costly grading mistakes.
-
Decide which cards are worth submitting.
-
Compare multiple copies of the same card.
-
Manage grading budgets efficiently.
-
Protect long-term personal collections.
If you've ever thought, "This looks good...but I'm not sure it's worth grading,"
ACV is built for that moment.

What ACV Cannot See
Because assessments are image-based, there are limits.
ACV cannot reliably detect:
-
Microscopic surface flaws
-
Internal card defects
-
Print variations not visible in images
-
Issues hidden by sleeves, loaders or lighting
We always recommend clear, well-lit images to produce the most accurate assessment possible.

Please remove from top loader, penny sleeves, or any other card protector.
How Recommendations are Made
Assessments are based on:
-
Visible condition indicators
-
Known grading standards
-
Historical grading behavior across companies
-
Risk tolerance appropriate to modern grading costs
Different grading companies may weigh factors differently. This is why a card recommended for SGC may not be recommended for PSA.
ACV takes this into account when offering recommendations.
Transparency Matters
ACV is designed to help collectors make better decisions, not promises.
You are always in control of:
-
Whether to grade
-
Where to grade
-
How to manage your collection
Our role is to provide clarity - not pressure
